Background / Current Condition

Currently, the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination, Mahasarakham University is a unit under the Office of the President of Mahasarakham University. It is one of the units established under the Royal Decree establishing government agencies within Mahasarakham University, 2538 B.E. At present, there are 12 units within the Office of the President, including the Central Office, Planning Division, Educational Services Division, Student Affairs Division, Finance and Procurement Division, Registration and Processing Division, Building and Facilities Division, Personnel Division, Research and Academic Services Division, Public Relations and International Affairs Division, Education Development and Quality Assurance Center, and Internal Audit Office. Main mission is to promote and support the university’s operations effectively and efficiently. To achieve this, the Office of the President has a suitable strategic department based on accurate situational analysis, knowing the strengths and weaknesses of the organization, then the university can assess the opportunities and threats the organization faces appropriately and accurately. Therefore, developing a strategic plan for the Office of the President is one of the important issues that the Office of the President prioritizes. This strategic department will be the long-term master plan of the Research Division and the Office of the President in determining the operational direction of the Research Division and the Office of the President, serving as the master plan for the development of operational plans and budgets. Additionally, the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination is also an important tool for monitoring and evaluating performance under the performance measurement system within the modern management system that focuses on measuring performance objectively.

The mission and responsibilities of the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination are as follows:

As previously mentioned, the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination, Mahasarakham University under the Office of the President is one of the key units responsible for promoting and supporting educational management for the development of Mahasarakham University. In 2013, the division reviewed and revised its strategic plan to serve as a crucial tool for developing the organization systematically and more efficiently towards future success. There were established in accordance with the Royal Decree on the Establishment of Government Agencies within Mahasarakham University in 1995, announced in the Royal Gazette, Volume 112, Section 21ก, on June 21, 1995, and following the division of government agencies as per the university’s announcement dated March 14, 2005. The Academic and Research Vice President serves as the commanding officer, and the Director of the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination serves as the operational commanding officer. The development guidelines for the division are as follows:

  • Developing the foundation and scope of research to accommodate the expansion of research activities, establishing mechanisms to support, promote, and develop research work at Mahasarakham University.
  • Develop and support research plans that are long-term research projects with interdisciplinary collaboration and goals that align with the university’s master research plan and development plans at several levels.
  • Develop management, coordination, and support mechanisms for research and development activities of various departments within the university, faculties, and other units of Mahasarakham University to enable research activities to be conducted in accordance with research policy and plans.
  • Develop and promote the dissemination of research findings and promote the application of research findings to benefit development, especially in the Northeastern region and national level.
  • Develop into a knowledge repository for research personnel production, including implementing measures to control research standards.
  • Support and seek funding to support and allocate funds to various departments of the university, faculties, and other units of Mahasarakham University.
  • Develop a central coordination for research and development with government and private sector organizations within the country and internationally.
  • Develop a repository for researcher registration, research project documents, and completed research documents to serve as a basis for research planning and dissemination of research work of Mahasarakham University.
  • Develop and provide support for organizing seminars, training courses on research, and researcher production, as well as providing consultation on research planning and research project operations, as resolved at the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination meeting, 4/2548, on July 25, 2548 B.E. The committees approved the establishment of new internal working groups to align with the mission of the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination, ensuring that the management and operations systems were more efficient and effective. Consequently, new working groups have been consolidated, There were 6 working groups under the supervision of the Vice President for Policy, Planning, and Research and the Director of the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination, as follows:

    • Academic Services Support Department
    • Promotion of Arts, Culture, and Local Wisdom Preservation Department
    • Industry Collaboration Promotion Department
    • Research Information and Dissemination Department
    • General Management Department

The objectives of the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination are as follows:

  1. To promote and support the development of research activities at Mahasarakham University.
  2. To promote and support the development of academic services at Mahasarakham University.
  3. To promote and support the development of cultural and local wisdom preservation activities at Mahasarakham University.

Plan for the Development of the Division of Research Facilitation and Dissemination:

  • Develop and expand research capabilities to support the expansion of research activities, establish mechanisms to support, promote, and develop research work at Mahasarakham University.
  • Develop and support research plans that are long-term research projects, interdisciplinary, and aligned with the university’s master research plan as well as development plans at various levels.
  • Develop management, coordination, and support mechanisms for research and development activities within various departments, faculties, and units of Mahasarakham University to conduct research in accordance with research policies and plans.
  • Develop and promote the dissemination of research findings and promote the application of research findings for development, especially in the Northeastern region.
    5.Develop into a knowledge repository for producing research personnel and establish standards control measures for research.
  • Support and seek funding sources to support and allocate funds to various departments, faculties, and units of Mahasarakham University.
  • Being a central coordination for research and development with various governmental and private sector organizations within the country and abroad.
  • Develop into a place for registering researchers, research projects, and complete research documents as a basis for research planning and dissemination of research at Mahasarakham University.
  • Develop and provide support for organizing seminars, training courses on research, and researcher production planning, as well as providing advice on research operation plans and research projects
